Beyond traditional unit photography, I was commissioned by Netflix to execute a unique cross-brand project: photographing the official LEGO® One Piece sets in-situ on the series' practical filming locations in Cape Town.
The goal was to create a seamless visual bridge between the cinematic world and the consumer product. By placing the brick-built Baratie, Arlong Park, and the Going Merry on the actual decks and tables where the live-action story unfolds, I provided the atmospheric lighting and environmental texture that studio photography simply cannot replicate.
These images became the definitive visual assets for the global launch on lego.com. This project demonstrates my specialised ability to manage complex, multi-brand creative visions on a live, high-stakes set, delivering assets that drive both fan engagement and global retail revenue.
from Set to Shelf The art and strategy of unit stills in global merchandise
A professional studio photograph of a highly detailed Roronoa Zoro collectible action figure from the Netflix live-action series One Piece. The figure, based on Mackenyu’s portrayal, is shown in a dynamic three-sword style pose, wearing a white short-sleeved shirt, green haramaki sash, and black trousers. It stands on a hexagonal display base featuring a compass map design and the name 'RORONOA ZORO.' The image highlights the photographic precision used to translate on-set unit stills into authentic consumer products.

From cinematic unit stills to global brand assets. Providing the visual blueprint for Netflix’s 'One Piece' consumer products, toy lines, and international consumer product partnerships. Visual consistency is the bridge between the screen and the shelf. My unit stills and seamless photography serve as the primary reference for scale, lighting, and detail in product development.
Making history from the Grand Line to the newsstands of Tokyo.
A professional studio portrait of Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy for the Netflix live-action series 'One Piece,' captured by Principal Photographer Casey Crafford. The subject is shown from the waist up, wearing his iconic straw hat and red vest, posing with arms crossed against a neutral gray background. This high-resolution asset was commissioned to establish the definitive live-action visual for global marketing and brand partnerships
The front cover of the legendary Japanese magazine 'Weekly Shonen Jump' (No. 34, 2023) featuring Casey Crafford’s studio portrait of Iñaki Godoy. The live-action character is positioned prominently alongside the original manga illustration by Eiichiro Oda, surrounded by vibrant Japanese typography and Netflix branding. This cover marks a historic moment where a live-action portrayal was integrated into the franchise’s heritage print publication

In 2023, my commissioned studio portrait of Iñaki Godoy by Netflix made history as the first live-action image to grace the cover of Weekly Shonen Jump, standing alongside the original manga heritage.
